Mga kaso ng kidnapping, bumaba sa unang 5 buwan ng taon

Iniulat ng Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) na bumaba ang mga kaso ng kidnapping mula Enero hanggang Mayo ng taong kasalukuyan kumpara sa parehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.

Ayon kay AKG Director Police Brigadier General Cosme Abrenica, para sa taong ito ay 18 kaso ng kidnapping ang iniulat pero lumabas na “hoax” lang ang siyam, kaya siyam lang ang opisyal na bilang.

Mas mababa aniya ito kumpara sa 13 insidente na naitala mula Enero hanggang Mayo noong nakaraang taon.

Sa siyam na insidente ng kidnapping ngayon taon, tatlo ang may kaugnayan sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), habang anim na kaso ay tradisyunal na kidnapping for ransom; kung saan dalawang kaso ang “solved,” tatlo ang “cleared,” at apat ang patuloy na iniimbestigahan.
