DA, naglaan na ng ₱350-M pondo para sa pagbili ng bakuna vs. ASF

Aabot sa ₱350-million ang inilaang pondo ng Department of Agriculture (DA) para sa procurement ng mga bakuna kontra African Swine Fever (ASF).

Kasunod ito ng pag-apruba ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sa paggamit ng AVAC ASF Live Vaccine mula Vietnam para masawata na ang sakit na matagal nang hamon sa swine industry sa bansa.

Tina-target ang rollout ng bakuna sa ikatlong quarter ng taon na pangungunahan ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).

Prayoridad dito ang clustered backyard farms, semi-commercial farms, at commercial enterprises.

Sa ngayon, isinasapinal na ng BAI ang guidelines para sa rollout ng bakuna katuwang ang agricultural at veterinary stakeholders.

Magkakaroon din ng public consultations bago ikasa ang bakunahan.

Sa pinakahuling tala ng BAI, as of July 26, aabot pa sa 45 munisipalidad sa 18 probinsya sa bansa ang may aktibong kaso ng ASF sa bansa. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
