MMDA, hinikayat ang mga alkalde at kinatawan ng 17 LGUs sa NCR na makilahok sa Metro Manila Shake Drill

Hinikayat ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairperson Atty. Don Artes ang mga alkalde at kinatawan ng 17 local government units (LGUs) sa National Capital Region (NCR) na makilahok sa malawakang pagsasagawa ng Metro Manila Shake Drill na gaganapin sa July 31.

Layon ng nasabing shake drill na mas lalo pang mapahusay ang kasanayan ng mga miyembro ng Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC), mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan na tumutugon sa sakuna, at volunteer groups sakaling magkaroon ng lindol sa rehiyon.

Layon din nitong madagdagan ang kamalayan at kaalaman ng publiko tungkol sa mga dapat gawin sakaling mangyari ang pagyanig.

Sa araw ng drill, magkakaroon ng iba’t ibang scenario sa mga piling lugar at magtatayo rin ng incident command posts sa apat na quadrants sa Metro Manila.

Bukod sa 17 Metro Manila LGUs, kabilang sa mga ahensiya na makikiisa ay ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) kasama ang Philippine National Police (PNP), at Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). | ulat ni Diane Lear
