Senadora Grace Poe, giniit na tumaas pa rin ang kabuuang pondo ng DepEd para sa susunod na taon

Giniit ni Senate Committee on Finance Chairperson Senadora Grace Poe na nananatili ang commitment ng kongreso sa pagprayoridad sa sektor ng edukasyon base sa ipinasa nilang 2025 General Appropriations Bill (GAB).

Ito ang tugon ni Poe sa pinahayag na pagkadismaya ni Education Secretary Sonny Angara at ilang mga senador tungkol sa pagkakatapyas ng 12 billion pesos sa panukalang 2025 budget ng DepEd.

Paliwanag ni Poe, may pondo pa rin para sa mga computer at tumaas rin ang overall budget ng DepEd para sa 2025 ng 19 billion pesos at ginawang 737 billion pesos sa susunod na taon mula sa 717 billion pesos na pondo nila ngayong taon.

Kinonsidera rin aniya nila ang finding ng Commission on Audit (COA) na 50 percent lang ang 2023 budget para sa computerizaton program ang nagamit.

Dinagdag rin ng mambabatas na prinayoridad rin ng kongreso ang human resources kaya dinoble nila ang budget para sa teaching supplies allowances mula sa 4.825 billion pesos ngayong 2024 sa 9.94 billion pesos sa 2025.
