Tiniyak ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na kanilang ipagpapatuloy ang pagtustos sa gastusin sa ilalim ng kanilang mga benefit package.

Ito ang inihayag ni PhilHealth President at CEO Dr. Emmanuel Ledesma sa kabila ng desisyon ng Bicameral Conference Committee ng Kongreso na gawing “zero” ang budget ng ahensya para sa 2025.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Ledesma na nauunawaan nila ang karunungan ng Komite sa paniniwalang kaya nilang balikatin ang mga gastusin, gamit ang mga pondong hawak nila.

Nananatili aniyang matatag ang pondo ng PhilHealth para panatilihin ang kanilang operasyon mula sa ₱281-bilyong reserves at ₱150-bilyong surplus funds nitong Oktubre.

Lumago rin aniya ang kanilang investment portfolio sa ₱489-billion nitong Nobyembre kaya’t magpapatuloy ang pagbibigay nila ng serbisyo kahit walang subsidiyang matatanggap mula sa pamahalaan. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
