Nanawagan si House Deputy Minority Leader at Bagong Henerasyon Representative Bernadette Herrera sa plenaryo na alisin ang compulsory third-party liability (CTPL) insurance na kinakailangan sa pagpaparehistro ng mga sasakyan.

Tinawag niya itong isang “lipas at hindi na kailangang regulasyon” na nagpapataw ng dagdag na gastos sa mga ordinaryong Pilipino.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa plenaryo ng Kamara, binigyang-diin ni Herrera na ang CTPL insurance, na nagkakahalaga ng humigit-kumulang P1,200 taun-taon, ay labis na nagpapabigat sa mga sektor tulad ng mga tsuper ng jeepney, delivery riders, at mga solong magulang.

“Para sa mga solo parents at iba pang ordinaryong Pilipino, bawat piso ay mahalaga. Ang halagang P1,200 na napupunta sa CTPL insurance ay mas mainam na mailaan sa pagkain, gamot, o iba pang mahahalagang gastusin,” ani Herrera.

Inihain ni Herrera ang House Bill No. 11275 upang alisin ang CTPL insurance requirement, lalo na kung ang may-ari ng sasakyan ay may comprehensive motor vehicle insurance na.

Anya ang CTPL ay ‘Redundant at hindi praktikal.’
