PNP, ipinauubaya na kay Pangulong Marcos ang posibleng pagpapalawig ng termino ni PNP Chief Marbil

Nasa pagpapasya na ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. kung palalawigin ang termino ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil.

Si Marbil ay nakatakdang magretiro sa susunod na buwan alinsunod sa mandatory retirement age.

Ayon kay PNP Concurrent Spokesperson at PRO 3 Regional Director PBGen. Jean Fajardo, handa si Marbil na ipagpatuloy ang kaniyang serbisyo kung palalawigin ang kaniyang termino.

Naniniwala din si PBGen. Fajardo, na magiging mahirap ang pagtatalaga ng bagong PNP chief lalo na at nalalapit ang 2025 midterm elections.

Ipinaliwanag din niya na hindi na bago sa PNP ang term extension.

Matatandaang nangyari ito sa mga dating PNP chiefs tulad nina Benjamin Acorda Jr., Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, Leandro Mendoza, at Edgar Aglipay.
