Kapwa naniniwala ang mga mambabatas ng minorya at mayorya sa Kamara na dapat nang umuwi si dating Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque at harapin ang mga alegasyon ng pagkaka-ugnay niya sa POGO.
Ayon kay Assistant Minority Leader Arlene Brosas, wala naman nang ambag si Roque sa Netherlands kung saan naroroon si dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para sa paglilitis.
Hirit pa niya na itigil na ni Roque ang publicity stunt at sagutin na lang ang kaniyang koneksyon sa POGO na naungkat sa imbestigasyon ng Quad Comm.
“Wala ka ambag diyan, uwi ka na. Mr. Roque should stop pretending to be a human rights lawyer and face the contempt order issued against him by the Congressional Quad Committee. His sudden appearance in The Hague while evading accountability at home only demonstrates his utter disregard for Philippine legal processes,” diin ni Brosas.
Sabi naman ni House Assistant Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, mismong si VP Sara Duterte, nakikita na magiging pabigat lang si Roque sa kasong kinakaharap ng ama sa ICC kaya hindi na ito isinama sa kaniyang legal team.
Paalala pa ng kongresista na may kasong qualified human trafficking si Roque na dapat niyang harapin dito sa bansa.
“Even Vice President Sara Duterte, she sees the presence of Atty. Roque as part of the legal team…as something that would cause more problem to the case itself. I think…they already know that Harry Roque is bringing too much problem if ever that he would remain in the Netherlands. Because they understand that not only Atty. Roque was incited in contempt by the Quad Comm but he also is facing a serious case here in the country, yung qualified human trafficking, his involvement in the POGO. Kasi pareho po sila ng kaso with Alice Guo. He has no business in the Netherlands anymore considering that the legal team, no less than the Vice President says na wala, hindi naman po siya parte doon sa legal team,” giit ni Adiong.
Halata naman aniya na tinatakasan niya ang kaniyang pananagutan dahil bago pa man arestuhin ang dating pangulo ay nagtago na si Roque.
Sabi naman ni Deputy Majority leader Paolo Ortega, wala naman nang iba pang pupuntahan si Roque kundi bumalik ng Pilipinas, lalo na kung hindi naman mapagbigyan ang kaniyang hinihinging asylum sa Netherlands.
“I think he should come home and face the… marami pong katanungan na naiwan nung umalis po siya especially nung nasa Quad Comm tayo…sabi ko nga the best-case scenario for him is he comes home kasi hindi naman po siya part of the magiging part na ng legal counsel,” ani Ortega. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
