In line with President Bongbong Marcos’ focus on health, the Department of Health (DOH) is ready to assist the UP-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) while its Emergency Room (ER) is temporarily full of patients. Upon investigation by the UP-PGH management, no unusual or dangerous reasons were found for this situation, and the number may also decrease after a few days.
“We are already talking to UP-PGH for the possible transfer of their current patients to DOH hospitals,” said Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa, who is also a former Chief of the UP-PGH Department of Emergency Medical Services (DEMS). “All hospitals, clinics, ambulances and doctors are advised to refrain from bringing new patients to UP-PGH, and to bring them to DOH hospitals first,” added Sec. Herbosa.
