Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region, pinagana na ng PNP

Opisyal nang pinagana ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) upang mapalakas ang seguridad at pamamahala sa bagong rehiyon, alinsunod sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Ayon kay PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, ang activation ng PRO-NIR ay batay sa resolusyong inilabas ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) noong January 9, 2025.

Dahil dito, inilipat na sa PRO-NIR ang pangangasiwa sa mga pulisya ng Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Siquijor, at Bacolod City Police Office.

Itinalaga bilang Officer-In-Charge ng PRO-NIR si Brig. Gen. Jack Limpayos Wanky ngunit mananatili rin siyang hepe ng PRO-6 bilang Concurrent Regional Director.

Ayon kay Marbil, ang pagtatatag ng PRO-NIR ay isang mahalagang hakbang sa pagpapalakas ng serbisyo ng kapulisan at pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa Negros Island. | ulat ni Diane Lear
