Department of Agriculture, hindi nababahala sa 17% na tariff na ipinataw ng U.S sa export products ng Pilipinas

Wala umanong dapat ikabahala ang sektor ng agrikultura sa ipinataw na 17 % na tariff ng Estados Unidos sa mga produktong iniluluwas ng Pilipinas sa US.

Sa pulong balitaan sa Quezon City, sinabi ni Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. na maituturing pa rin itong magandang balita dahil maliit ang 17 % kung ikukumpara sa export tariff na ipinataw ng U.S sa mga malapit na kakumpitensya ng Pilipinas sa larangan ng export.

Pakinggan natin ang tinig ni Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.

Ayon kay Secretary Laurel, pinatawan ng Estados Unidos ng 46% tariff ang Vietnam, habang 36% naman ang ipinataw sa Thailand.

Dahil dito, nakikita niya ang mas malaking oportunidad para sa Pilipinas na mag-export ng mga produkto sa US.

Kabilang sa pangunahing iniluluwas ng bansa sa US ang niyog, bangus, at seaweeds.

Nais din ng kalihim na magkaroon ng kumpletong listahan ng mga produktong ini-export sa US upang matukoy kung alin ang maaapektuhan ng reciprocal tariff. | ulat ni Diane Lear
