Inaasahan ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang pagdagsa ng mahigit 30 milyong turista ngayong Semana Santa, kasabay ng panawagan na gamitin lamang ang mga DOT-accredited na negosyo upang maiwasan ang travel scams.

Ayon kay Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, pinagana na ang regional operations centers upang matiyak ang maayos na daloy ng mga biyahero at ang seguridad sa mga matataong pasyalan. Pinayuhan din ni Frasco ang publiko na mag-book lamang sa mga DOT-accredited na establisyimento upang matiyak ang kalidad at kaligtasan ng serbisyo.

Kabilang sa mga top destinations ngayong taon ang Boracay, Palawan, Cebu, Baguio, at Siargao, habang lumalakas din ang turismo sa Mindanao, lalo na sa Davao at Sarangani. Sa Maynila, tinatayang aabot sa 2.4 milyon naman ang bibisita.
