Tinatayang aabot sa 1,031 loose firearms ang ininspeksyon ngayon ni Philippine Army Chief, Lieutenant General Roy Galido sa punong tanggapan ng Army’s 6th Infantry Division, sa Datu Odin Sinsuata sa Maguindanao del Norte ngayong araw.

Ayon sa Public Affairs Office ng 6th ID, nagmula ang mga nakumpiskang armas sa SOCCSKSARGEN region o sa South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos gayundin sa Maguindanao provinces.

Bahagi pa rin ito ng kampanya ng pamahalaan na supilin ang pagkalat ng illegal na armas gayundin ang pamamayagpag ng mga Private Armed Group (PAGs).

Lalo na aniya’t isa ito sa mga maaaring gamitin ng mga magkakalabang kandidato ngayong papalapit na election 2025.

Naniniwala si Galido, na kailangang masawata ang pagkalat ng mga illegal na armas sa paniniwalang isa ito sa tinatawag niyang “Tool of Violence” sa rehiyon. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
