Naglabas na ng Show Cause Order (SCO) ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) para pagpaliwanagin ang Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) kaugnay ng pagkalunod ng dalawang student-athletes sa isang school-sanctioned team-building activity sa Dipaculao, Aurora noong June 8.
Ayon sa CHED, makailang ulit na hiningi ng CHED-NCR ang incident report at certificate of compliance sa ADMU ngunit hindi ito ibinigay ng unibersidad, dahilan para maglabas na ang komisyon ng Show Cause Order.
Sa ilalim ng kautusan, pinagsusumite ang Ateneo ng written explanation sa loob ng 10 araw kung bakit hindi ito dapat patawan ng kaukulang parusa kaugnay ng posibleng paglabag sa mga regulasyon sa off-campus activities at student safety.
Kasama rin sa tinitingnan ng CHED ang posibleng kawalan ng sapat na supervision sa mga estudyante habang nasa aktibidad.
“CHED remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting student welfare and upholding standards across the higher education sector. Institutions entrusted with the care of students must comply with all laws, regulations, and safety requirements, especially in the conduct of off-campus activities.”
