Hiniling ng mga prosecutor ng Office of the Ombudsman kay Sandiganbayan Senior Associate Justice Ronald Moreno na mag-inhibit sa pagdinig sa malversation case laban kay dating Senador Bong Revilla Jr.
Sa isinumiteng mosyon, iginiit ng prosekusyon ang umano’y “unwarranted conduct” ni Moreno sa mga testigo ng prosekusyon sa mga nakaraang pagdinig.
“While the prosecution does not impute bad faith or improper motive on the part of the Honorable Associate Justice Ronald B. Moreno, there are, however, circumstances in the present case which reasonably give rise to a perception of partiality and cast doubt upon his ability to act with complete impartiality,” nakasaad sa mosyon.
Si Moreno ay kabilang sa dalawang mahistrado na bumoto pabor sa pagbibigay ng piyansa kay Revilla sa naturang malversation case.
Kaugnay ito ng kasong may kinalaman sa umano’y maanomalyang ₱92.8-milyong flood control project sa Pandi, Bulacan kung saan nakapagpyansa ng ₱1-M si Revilla.
