Mahigit 1,000 trafficked persons, nakabalik na sa kanilang pamilya sa tulong ng DSWD

Nakabalik na sa kani-kanilang pamilya ang 1,560 trafficked persons nitong 2024 sa pamamagitan ng Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP).

Ang mga pamilyang ito ay tinulungan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development hanggang sa makarekober sa kanilang sarili.

Sinabi ni DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, ang mga victim-survivor ay tumanggap ng interventions at assistance mula sa ahensya partikular ang psychosocial, social, at economic needs.

Kabilang sa mga serbisyo na ibinibigay ng RRPTP ay ang case management, basic hygiene kit, food, at financial assistance.

Naglalaan din ang programa ng educational and medical assistance para sa mga victim-survivors, gayundin ang referral para sa mga potential employers o business partners kung kinakailangan.

Ayon sa DSWD spokesperson, kabilang sa mga kaso ng trafficked persons ang forced labor, sexual exploitation, prostitution, illegal recruitment, child trafficking, at repatriation. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
