Naging mabunga ang pagpupulong nila Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. at US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth sa Kampo Aguinaldo, ngayong araw.

Tumagal ng humigit kumulang isa’t kalahating oras ang pagpupulong ng dalawang opisyal na sumentro sa pagpapatibay ng ugnayan ng dalawang bansa.

Kabilang din sa mga tinalakay ang pagpapalakas ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) gayundin ang pagpapatibay ng alyansa ng Pilipinas at Amerika sa aspetong pang depensa.

Kasunod nito, muling tiniyak ni Hegseth ang matatag na alyansang Pilipinas at Amerika sa ilalim ng administrasyong Donald Trump.

Nagkasundo ang Pilipinas at Amerika na magpadala ng karagdagang Advance Capabilties sa Pilipinas gaya ng pagde-deploy ng American Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System o NMESIS anti-ship missile system para sa BALIKATAN sa Abril.

Sa kaniyang panig naman, sinabi ni Teodoro na kanilang pag-iibayuhin pa ang mga kasalukuyang EDCA site para sa logistical support at Defense Industrial Cooperation. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
