Desidido ang Kamara na ipasa ang P5.768 trillion 2024 budget bago ang nakatakdang break ng Kongreso sa September 29.
Ayon kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez, para matiyak ang on time na pagpapatibay sa panukalang pambansang budget ay maagang magsisimula ang plenary deliberations na mag-uumpisa sa September 19, Martes alas-9 ng umaga.
Maliban dito, magkakaroon din ng sesyon kahit Huwebes at Biyernes.
“We will work morning and afternoon and on Thursday and Friday this week to meet our timeline. The national spending bill is the single most important piece of legislation Congress passes every year,” ani Romualdez.
Pagbibigay diin ng House leader na mahalaga ang napapanahong pag-apruba sa national budget upang maisakatuparan ang recovery at prosperity roadmap ng Marcos Jr. administration.
“Through the national budget, we hope to sustain our recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, create more income and job opportunities for our people, and improve their quality of life through the timely delivery of basic social services like education, healthcare, infrastructure, and financial aid,” punto ng House Speaker.
Inaasahan na sa September 27 ay matatapos ang deliberasyon ng budget sa plenaryo, ngunit handa aniya silang sagarin ang pagbusisi ng hanggang September 29 na siyang huling araw ng sesyon.| ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
