Muling nakipag-partner ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) sa Department of National Defense (DND), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), at kay Senator Francis Tolentino para sa pagpapatuloy ngayong taon ng Philippine Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Games.
Kasunod ito ng paglagda nina CHED Chairperson Popoy De Vera, DND Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., at PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann sa isang Memorandum of Agreement para sa interagency collaboration sa 2024 ROTC Games.
Ayon kay CHED Chair De Vera, mahalaga ang papel ng naturang palaro para sa pagtataguyod ng sports sa mga kabataan habang pinaiigting ang kanilang military training.
“Recognizing the pivotal role sports play in the holistic development of our youth, the ROTC Games stand as a testament to CHED’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who will contribute meaningfully to our nation’s progress,” pahayag ni De Vera.
Kabilang sa mga aabangan sa 2024 ROTC games ang national games for athletics, swimming, boxing, arnis, weightlifting, kickboxing, e-sports, basketball, volleyball, target shooting, at demonstration sports.
Ang pondo naman nito ay magmumula sa GAA ng DND, CHED, at PSC.
Noong 2023, aabot sa higit 200 HEIS ang nakibahagi sa ROTC games na nilahukan ng higit 3,000 student-athlete participants.
