Hihilingin nina Speaker Martin Romualdez at Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Romualdez sa Philhealth na maisama sa libreng Konsulta package nito ang prerequisite tests para sa suspected tuberculosis carriers.
Tinukoy ng House Speaker ang pahayag ni House Deputy Majority Leader Janette Garin, na isa ring doktor, na hindi nakatanggap ng libreng gamot ang mga TB patient dahil sa kawalan ng preliminary kidney at liver readiness tests.
Dahil naman dito ay hindi sila agad nagagamot at nauuwi sa pagkahawa ng kapamilya.
“Most of the time, suspected TB carriers have no means to have themselves tested for TB because of the costs it entails. According to Deputy Majority Leader Garin, ang nangyayari, hindi sila nabibigyan ng gamot kasi hindi nila mapa-test kung puwedeng tumanggap ng gamot ang kanilang kidneys at liver, tapos nakakapanghawa pa ng kapamilya o kapitbahay,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.
Para kay Rep. Yedda Romualdez na isang registered nurse, mas matutulungan nila ang mga TB patient na makapagpagamot kung maililibre sa Konsulta package ang creatinine at SGPT/SGOT tests.
“This way, we can help more people get medical attention for a very communicable disease that can affect even children. We help the people who have TB and we prevent the spread of this preventable disease,” saad ng Tingog party-list representative
Kasabay nito ay nagkasa ng health caravan si Congresswoman Yedda katuwang si Garin.
Nasa isang libong magsasaka at mangingisda ng Iloilo City ang nakabenepisyo sa libreng medical checkups, basic x-rays, hepatitis screening, blood tests at gamot.
“Our farmers and our fishermen are usually the ones who do not seek health services from the government, either because they live in far-flung areas or they don’t have the resources to take the time off and prioritize their health needs This is why kami na ang pumunta sa kanila.
