7 indibidwal, arestado sa iligal na pagbebenta ng online registered SIM cards

Arestado ng Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) ang pitong indibidwal sa serye ng entrapment operations dahil sa iligal na pagbebenta ng registered SIM cards online sa Cainta, Valenzuela, Quezon City, at Manila.

Ayon kay PNP-ACG Director Police Major General Ronnie Cariaga, isinagawa ang operasyon laban sa online na pagbebenta ng registered SIM matapos bumaha ang ganitong bentahan sa social media.

Sa panayam kay PNP ACG Spokesperson Police Lieutenatn Wallen Mae Arancillo, sinabi niyang ang bentahan ng registered SIM ay umaabot sa P14.00 para sa bulk orders habang ang mga SIM card na naka-link sa verified accounts ng payment service providers ay nagkakahalaga ng P3,500 bawat isa.

Nasa 400 registered SIM cards ang nakumpiska mula sa mga suspek.

Sa pahayag ng mga naaresto na kinabibilanggan ng apat na lalaki at tatlong babae, napilitan umano silang pumasok sa iligal na gawain dahil sa kanilang pangangailangan sa buhay.
