US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson, nais maituloy ang planong magtatag ng US Consulate sa Cebu

Inaasahan na mas mapapalapit sa Visayas at Mindanao regions ang US visa services kung matutuloy ang planong pagpapalagay ng Consulate Office sa Cebu ng Estados Unidos.

Ito ang ibinahagi na balita ni United States (US) Ambassador MaryKay Carlson sa kanyang pagbisita kahapon sa tanggapan ni Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.

Ayon kay Carlson, kung siya ang tatanungin, mas maganda sana na may sariling consulate sa Cebu ngunit kinakailangan pang maaprubahan ng U.S. Congress ang budget para ito ay maitatag.

Kung sakali, ang pagkakatatag ng US Consulate Office sa Cebu ay nangangahulugang hindi na kailangan pang pumunta ng Maynila ng mga taga-Visayas at Mindanao para sa kanilang personal appearance na bahagi ng kanilang US visa interviews.
