Inaasikaso na rin ng pamahalaan ang paghahanap sa iba pang mapagkukunan ng suplay ng tubig upang masiguro ang sapat na suplay nito para sa publiko.

Ayon sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), kasama ang pag-diversify sa water sources sa kanilang istratehiya upang hindi lubos na umasa lang sa Angat Dam.

Sa kasalukuyan, kabilang sa opsyon ang pagkuha ng suplay sa Laguna de Bay at paglilinis sa wastewater.

Tuloy-tuloy na rin aniya ang pakikipag-ugnayan nito sa water concessionaires na Manila Water at Maynilad.

Tinukoy rin ng DENR ang Kaliwa Dam na bahagi ng “medium-term” goals ng ahensya. Inaasahan itong magiging operational sa taong 2027. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
