House Appropriations Chair, ikinalugod ang pagsang-ayon ng Senado sa realignment ng Confidential at Intelligence Fund sa 2024 Budget

Positibo si House Committee on Appropriations Chair Elizaldy Co na magiging mabilis lang ang pagsalang ng panukalang 2024 National Budget sa Bicameral Conference Committee.

Ito’y kasunod ng pagkakasundo ng mga senador na alisin ang Confidential at Intelligence Funds (CIFs) ng mga civilian agency, hakbang na una nang ginawa ng Kamara.

“This jibes with or is a vindication of the decision of the House of Representatives to realign those appropriations. With such consensus, we foresee a smooth Bicameral Conference on the 2024 budget,” sabi ni Co.

Naniniwala ang mambabatas na ang pagsang-ayon na ito ng mga senador na alisan ng CIF ang mga civilian agency ay magpapabilis sa pag-apruba ng Pambansang Pondo para sa susunod na taon.

Matatandaan na sa bersyon ng Kamara ay inilipat nito ang Confidential at Intelligence Fund ng mga civilian agency patungo sa mga tanggapan na nakatutok sa national security.

Welcome din para kay Co ang resulta ng OCTA Research survey kung saan mayorya ng mga Pilipino ang sumuporta sa kanilang hakbang na i-realign ang CIF.

Batay sa survey, 57% ng mga Pilipino ang pumabor sa paglilipat ng CIF sa national security agencies.

Aniya, isa itong pruweba na tama ang naging hakbang ng Kongreso sa usapin ng confidential funds.
