Kaisa na rin ang Quezon City Police District sa layuning mapangalagaan ang kalikasan sa pagbida nito ng proyektong Green Camp Karingal.
Layon ng inisyatibong gawing environment-friendly camp ang headquarters ng QCPD gayundin ang lahat ng 16 na himpilan ng pulis-QC alinsunod na rin sa isinusulong na Green Agenda ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte.
Sa isang programa sa Kampo Karingal, ibinahagi ni QCPD Chief PBGen. Red Maranan kay QC Mayor Joy Belmonte ang mga napagtagumpayan nang proyekto na unang sinimulan noong Enero.
Kasama na rito ang pagkakaroon ng 147 na waste segregation bins, 526 solar lights, 158 urban gardens, 103 rainwater catchers, pagpapatupad Cash-to-Trashback at ng No Plastic/ No Styro policies sa buong QCPD.
Nagtalaga rin si QCPD Chief PBGen. Maranan ng 166 green cops na binubuo ng mga uniformed personnel at mga police aid na mangunguna sa pagpapatupad ng environmental regulation.
Kaugnay nito, nag-donate naman ang QC ng 400 seedlings na itatanim sa Kampo Karingal bilang bahagi ng kampanya na makapagtanim ng isang milyong puno sa lungsod Quezon.
Ikinalugod naman ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte ang proyektong ito ng QCPD na aniya ay unang magtataguyod ng isang green camp.
Nagpapakita aniya ito ng commitment ng kapulisan na pangalagaan hindi lang ang seguridad ng komunidad kundi pati na rin ng kapaligiran. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
