The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) arrived at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang City Vietnam yesterday, 14 April 2025.
During this first-ever port visit by a PCG vessel to Vietnam, BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) along with its crew and ship riders were warmly received by the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) in an official ceremony.
This arrival marks the final leg of its Tri-Country Port Visit mission covering Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, underscoring the PCG’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation through the ASEAN Coast Guard Forum (ACF) and enhancing bilateral maritime ties with the VCG.
The PCG delegation, led by Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Joven Fabul PCG, paid courtesy calls to the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr. Trần Chí Cường, and to the Commander of VCG Region 2, Major General Tran Quang Tuan. Both engagements reaffirmed goodwill and the shared desire to build on the PCG-VCG Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024.
In concluding said engagement, VCG Region 2 hosted a reception dinner in honor of the PCG delegation, highlighting people-to-people engagement and the growing maritime partnership between the two nations.
This visit forms part of the PCG’s broader effort to promote maritime diplomacy and operational collaboration across the region.
