AFP, pabor sa pagbibigay ng amnestiya sa mga NPA

Nakahanda ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na irekomendang bigyan ng amnestiya ang mga magbabalik-loob na miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA).

Ito ang inihayag ni AFP Spokesperson Colonel Medel Aguilar sa virtual press conference ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Ayon kay Aguilar, nakikita nila ito bilang bahagi ng mapayapang solusyon upang tuluyang mawakasan ang insurhensya sa bansa.

Ayon kay Aguilar, 1,800 na lang ang natitirang miyembro ng NPA mula sa 24,000 noong dekada 80.

Sa ngayon aniya ay nakamit na ng AFP ang “strategic victory” laban sa mga teroristang komunista, at nag-iisa nalang ang aktibong NPA Guerilla front na nag-ooperate sa Northern Samar.

Para aniya makamit ang total victory, kailangan nalang buwagin ang politico-military structure ng CPP-NPA-NDF upang wala na silang kakayahan na makapanggulo sa mga komunidad. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
