Umapela ang isang mambabatas sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na maayos ang ilan sa aberya sa OFW Pass.
Ayon kay OFW Party-list Representative Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino, kapuri-puri ang hakbang ng DMW na maglunsad ng isang digital application upang mapadali ang proseso ng pagkuha ng Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) ng mga OFW.
Ngunit may ilan aniyang migrant workers na nakaranas ng glitches o pagloloko gaya ng paulit-ulit na pag-log-in at error sa mga field entry.
Para sa kongresista, mahalagang maayos ito upang tunay na mapakinabangan ng mga OFW.
“I am happy that DMW is responding to the clamor of our OFWs to streamline and digitize the OEC process…While we appreciate the efforts made thus far, we have to conduct a thorough review of the application in light of initial comments received. The final review and tweaking of DMW through DICT’s help will ensure that the digital application will become more user-friendly, will provide smoother transactions, and will align with the expectations of our OFWs,” ani Magsino
Ang digital OFW Pass ang ipapalit sa tradisyunal na OEC.
Ito na ang magsisilbing patunay na ang may hawak nito ay lehitimong OFW, at magagamit para makakuha ng Exit Clearance sa mga pabalik sa kanilang trabaho mula sa Pilipinas. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
