60-M Euro-grant at ibang suporta sa laban ng Pilipinas sa Climate Change at extreme weather events, ipagkakaloob ng European Commission

Magpapadala ng financing expertise at tutulong sa access sa teknolohiya ang European Union Commission, para sa pagpapalakas ng mga hakbang ng Pilipinas na gawing greener at mas malinis ang bansa sa hinaharap.

“On development cooperation, we committed to conclude a financing agreement on the Green Economy Program in the Philippines, a grant worth 60 million euros, which aims to support the Philippines in areas such as circular economy, renewable energy, and climate change mitigation.” — Pangulong Marcos Jr.

Sa naging pagbisita ni EU Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen sa Pilipinas, sinabi nito na suportado nila ang ambisyong ito ng bansa maging ang mga programa nito laban sa Climate Change.

Aniya, suportado rin nila ang laban ng Pilipinas maging sa malalang weather events, sa pamamagitan ng Eyes in the sky, o iyong Copernicus sattelites.

Sila aniya sa EU Commission, nagsi-set up na ng Copernicus data mirror site sa Philippine Space Agency (PSA).

Lumagda rin aniya sila ng kasunduan, upang mapaiigting ang datos kaugnay sa Earth observation. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
