Idinaos ngayong hapon ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) sa pamamagitan ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) ang ika-23 Gawad Kalasag Awarding Ceremony sa Manila Hotel.
Dito ay pinarangalan ang mga indibidwal, organisasyon, local government unit (LGU) at stakeholder na malaki ang naimbag sa Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM).
Ang Gawad Kalasag ay may 11 kategorya at ito ay ang:
1. GK Seal for Local DRRM Councils and Offices
2. GK Seal Special Awards for Best Civil Society Organization
3. Best People’s Organization
4. Best Volunteer Organization
5. Best Higher Education Institutions
6. Best Private Organizations
7. Best Government Emergency Management and Response Teams (GEMS)
8. Best Hospitals
9. Best Schools
10. GK Special Recognition for Individuals and Organizations
11. Heroic Act for Individuals and Groups
