Sen. Grace Poe, naniniwalang sapat na ang economic laws na ipinasa ng nakaraang Kongreso para tugunan ang mga isyu sa ekonomiya ng bansa

Iginiit ni Senate Committee on Public Services Chairperson Senator Grace Poe na dapat munang pag-aralang mabuti ang naipasang Public Services Act ng nakaraang Kongreso, bago amyendahan ang economic provision ng Saligang Batas.

Si Poe ang tumayong sponsor ng Public Services Act (PSA) noong 18th Congress.

Sa pagpapatuloy ng pagdinig ng Senate Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments tungkol sa resolution of both houses no. 6 o economic chacha, ipinunto ni Poe na natugunan na ng PSA, Retail Trade Liberalization Act, at Foreign Investments Act ang mga kinakailangan ng bansa para mas maging bukas sa mga mamumuhunan, lalo na sa mga foreign investor.

Sinabi ni Poe, na sa pamamagitan ng Public Services Act, binuksan na para sa dayuhang mamumuhunan ang ilang industriya kabilang na ang telecommunications, airlines at shipping lines.

Naglagay rin aniya ng mga probisyon para matiyak na hindi madedehado ang mga Pilipino.

Kaya naman dapat aniyang pag-aralan at ipatupad muna itong mga batas na ito bago ikonsidera ang pagbubukas ng ibang sektor ng ating ekonomiya sa mga dayuhang mamumuhunan.

Isa kasi sa mga pangamba ng senator kung bubuksan ang ibang public utilities sa foreign ownership, tulad ng kuryente, tubig, seaports, oil companies at public transportation ay baka hindi makasabay ang mga lokal na kumpanya.

Sa pagdinig ng subcommittee ngayong araw, pangunahing pinagtuunan ng pansin ang panukalang amyenda sa economic provision tungkol sa public utilities at public services. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
