Pilipinas, maaaring magsampa ng kaso sa int’l court sa bagong regulasyon ng China na ikulong ang mga ituturing nilang ‘sea trespassers’

Maaaring magsampa ng panibagong kaso ang Pilipinas sa international court kung magkukulong ang China ng mga Pilipino na papasok nang walang pahintulot sa mga pinag-aagawang lugar sa South China Sea.

Ito ang iginiit ni Senate Special Committee on Admiralty Zones Chairperson Senador Francis Tolentino nang matanong tungkol sa bagong regulasyon ng China na ikulong ang mga dayuhang manghihimasok sa pinaniniwalaan nilang kanilang teritoryo.

Paliwanag ni Tolentino, nakasaad sa UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea) na ang isang coastal state ay maaaring magpataw ng parusa para sa paglabag sa fisheries law pero hindi pwedeng kasama ang pagkulong sa mga ipapataw na parusa.

Binigyang-diin ng senador na malinaw na mali ang ginagawa ng China at maaari rin nating ireklamo ito sa International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) o sa International Court of Justice.
