50% ng nasisingil na Fire Safety Fee, ipapanukalang ilaan sa BFP

Plano ngayon ni dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo na bumalangkas ng panukala na magbibigay ng dagdag na pondo sa Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Sa ika-33 anibersaryo ng BFP, tinukoy ni Arroyo na sa apat na bilyong piso na nakokolektang Fire Safety Fees kada taon, isang bilyong piso lamang ang automatic appropriations na napupunta sa ahensya.

Kaya naman para hindi na mahirapan sa paghahanap ng dagdag pondo ng ahensya ay ipapanukala ni Arroyo sa Kamara na gawing 50 percent ang makukuhang automatic appropriation ng BFP mula sa Fire Safety Fees.

Sa ilalim ng 2025 National Expenditure Program, pinaglaanan ng ₱31-billion ang BFP. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
