Bulkang Bulusan sa Sorsogon, itinaas sa alert level 1 status

Itinaas na sa alert level 1 ang status ng Bulusan Volcano mula sa Alert Level 0 (normal).

Ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), nakitaan ng abnormalidad ang Bulkang Bulusan at patuloy na nagparamdam ng volcanic earthquakes, na nagsimula noong Oktubre 14, 2023.

 Mula noon, 121 volcanic earthquakes ang naitala na ng Bulusan Volcano Network.

Tatlumpu’t pito (37) sa mga ito ay volcano-tectonic earthquake na nauugnay sa rock fracturing processes sa lalim na isa hanggang siyam na kilometro, sa ilalim ng northwestern at southeastern slopes ng volcano edifice o dalisdis ng bulkan.

Dahil dito, pinapaalalahanan ang local government units at ang publiko na ipagbawal ang pagpasok sa 4-kilometer radius na Permanent Danger Zone, at bantayan ang 2-kilometer Extended Danger Zone (EDZ) sa Southeast sector. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
