Alex Eala is teaming up with Shaira Rivera in their Asian Games women’s doubles debut.
The longtime Philippine team teammates will open their campaign against Ching Laam Lai and Kallista Liu of Hong Kong in the first round set Tuesday afternoon at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center.
If Eala and Rivera win, they will face China’s Xinyu Jiang and Zhaoxuan Yang in the second round, where another Philippine bets Stefi Aludo and Tenny Madis have secured their place after beating Indonesia.
Eala is coming off a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over Thailand’s Patcharin Cheapchandej in the singles tournament.
