A stronger partnership through sports.
This was the message of Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Jing Quan as he reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of wushu in the Philippines during a courtesy visit on Thursday at the PSC Wushu Building in Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila.
Ambassador Quan was warmly welcomed by officials of the Philippine Sports Commission and Wushu Federation of the Philippines Secretary General Julian Camacho.
National junior and pool athletes showcased their talent through exhibition performances in both sanda and taolu, highlighting the promising future of Philippine wushu.
During the visit, Ambassador Quan also expressed his support for the Philippines’ hosting of the 2027 World Wushu Championships, saying China is willing to provide whatever assistance it can to help ensure the tournament’s success.
Both Ambassador Quan and Camacho expressed optimism that the continued cooperation between the Philippines and China would further strengthen the country’s wushu program through technical support, athlete development, and sports exchanges.
