Muling siniguro ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na walang special treatment sa sinumang persons deprived of liberty (PDL) na nasa kustodiya ng BJMP.
Ito’y kasunod na rin ng pagdala sa Quezon City Jail–Male Dormitory kina dating Representative Mike Defensor at negosyanteng Joseph Espiritu na inaresto sa bisa ng warrants of arrest ng Sandiganbayan.
Ayon sa DILG, ipinasok sa pasilidad ang dalawa bandang 3:58 ng hapon kahapon, alinsunod sa Commitment Order na inilabas ng Sandiganbayan Third Division kaugnay ng kinahaharap nilang non-bailable na kasong plunder.
Kinumpirma rin ng BJMP na nakumpleto na nina Defensor at Espiritu ang standard custodial processing at isinama na sila sa general jail population.
“The DILG reiterates that all persons committed to BJMP custody are treated in accordance with the law and established custodial procedures. As affirmed by the BJMP, no special treatment will be extended to any PDL under its custody. The Department remains committed to ensuring the impartial and professional enforcement of the law.”
