The Philippine pencak silat team capped its campaign at the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championships 2026 with an impressive collection of 11 medals.
In the seni or artistic category, Francine Padios captured the country’s lone gold in female tunggal, while the trio of Rick Ortega, Mark Laurenz Ortega, and Edmar Tacuel earned a silver in the male regu competition. Tacuel added a bronze in the male tunggal event.
Meanwhile in tanding or sparring, four athletes secured silver medals, namely Kram Airam Carpio in the Class B Female (50–55 kg) division; Kyan Garcia in the Class I Male (85–90 kg) class; Stephen Suazo in the Male Open 1; and Mary Justine Ayuno Acat in the Female Open 2.
The Philippines also claimed five bronze medals in tanding, courtesy of Maricel Dela Torre Escalona in the Class D Female (60–65 kg), Allimar Campos in the Class F Male (70–75 kg), Alvin Campos in the Class G Male (75–80 kg), and Joash Cantoria in the Class H Male (80–85 kg).
