Undefeated boxer Charly Suarez revealed to Sports Radio 918 that two high-profile names are being considered as his next opponent, in case his dream rematch with Emanuel Navarrete still won’t come to fruition.
Suarez, though, declined to name them pending an official announcement.
The 37-year old Filipino is coming off an impressive first-round TKO victory over Manuel Avila to capture the WBO International super featherweight belt and solidify his no. 1 contender status.
But make no mistake about it, Suarez wants another shot at Navarrete.
The pair’s first meeting in May 2025 was declared a No Contest after a video review confirmed Navarrete’s cut was caused by a legal punch from Suarez. The WBO ordered an immediate rematch, but the Mexican champion chose to fight then-IBF titleholder Eduardo Nunez.
The WBO issued another order this year but reports say Navarette is targeting another title unification bout, this time against WBC king O’Shaquie Foster.
“Si Navarrete, warrior ’yon, and he’s a champion also for how many years, and dalawa na ’yong belt niya. Suarez added.
