They followed it up with another impressive win on Wednesday night, beating No. 15 Great Britain, 6-2, at the Asia-Pacific Secondary Field.

Great Britain managed to score two runs, but the Philippines kept control of the game.
Starter Mary Nichole Padasas allowed five hits and two runs in four innings, with both runs unearned, while striking out four. Jojielyn Lim then closed out the game with a scoreless fifth inning.
The Filipinas added two more runs in the fourth inning to secure the 6-2 victory. Velasco finished with two hits and a run, while Francisco had two RBIs. Capistrano and Celis also contributed key hits in the win.
The Philippines is now second in the group with a 2-1 record, behind unbeaten Japan, which has won all three of its games.
The Filipinas face another tough doubleheader today against world No. 5 Chinese Taipei at 11 a.m. and No. 6 Venezuela at 3 p.m.
Only the top three teams in the group will automatically advance to the World Cup Final Stage, scheduled for July 19-25 next year in Rockford, Illinois.
