Pormal nang tinanggal sa puwesto ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon ang pinuno ng maintenance department ng Las Piñas-Muntinlupa District Engineering Office dahil sa hindi kasiya-siyang pagganap sa tungkulin at kawalan ng pakialam sa gitna ng mga kalamidad.
Batay sa isang memorandum na may petsang Agosto 29 at isinapubliko nitong Linggo, ipinag-utos ng kalihim ang agarang relief order laban kay Engineer Loreto Balena Jr.
“In view of repeated reports concerning your unsatisfactory performance, lack of urgency and delayed response to calamities, you are hereby relieved of your duties as Maintenance Chief of the Las Piñas-Muntinlupa District Engineering Office, effective immediately,” pahayag ni Dizon sa nasabing utos.
Bukod sa pagpapatalsik sa puwesto, inatasan din ni Dizon ang nasabing opisyal na mag-turnover agad ng lahat ng mga nakatagong dokumento at siguraduhing hindi mauudlot ang serbisyo-publiko sa nasabing tanggapan.
“To ensure the uninterrupted delivery of public service, you are directed to conduct an inventory, accomplish, complete and sign all pending documents and deliverables, and formally turn over all official records, papers, and properties in your custody to the appropriate office,” ayon pa sa memorandum.
Ibinaba ang naturang desisyon kasunod ng serye ng mga ulat hinggil sa kapabayaan at kabagalan ng opisyal na umaksyon sa mga panahon ng sakuna at pangkagipitan sa nasasakupang distrito.
