Gilas Pilipinas is leaving one final roster spot open as the national team heads to South Korea tomorrow, September 2, to continue its preparations for the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Eleven players will fly to Seoul and headline a pair of tune-up games against the South Korean national team in Suwon this Friday and Sunday.
The group is composed of Brandon Bates, Adrian Nocum, Robert Bolick, Sedrick Barefield, Don Trollano, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Zavier Lucero, RJ Abarrientos, Justine Baltazar, Justin Arana, and Jerrick Ahanmisi.
The final spot remains up for grabs between two key players — Justin Brownlee and Kai Sotto.
Brownlee could join the team in Korea or Japan if he is cleared to play, while Sotto’s inclusion will depend on his schedule.
Meanwhile, Caelan Tiongson will not be part of the squad due to eligibility requirements, while Jason Perkins has withdrawn because of an injury.
Gilas will open its Asian Games campaign on September 11 against Bahrain, followed by Kazakhstan on September 12, and powerhouse China on September 14.
