Twelve-year old Filipina skateboarding sensation Mazel Paris Alegado captured two gold medals at the Mystic Sk8 Cup in Prague, Czech Republic.
The world no.23 and reigning Southeast Asian Games women’s park champion topped the ladies bowl event with a total score of 79.67, besting fellow 12-year old Nahia Castro of Spain by 1.67 points. Norway’s Maja Spatscheck settled for bronze with 69.00.
Alegado then completed a golden double by ruling the ladies vert event, amassing a total score of 83.67, finishing well ahead of Castro and Lilly Strachan of the United Kingdom, who took silver and bronze, respectively.
Alegado now shifts her focus to three major competitions later this year: the World Championships in Park and Street in Asuncion, Paraguay; the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in September; and the WST orld Cup Street in Utsunomiya, Japan in November.
