Nagkasundo sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, na lalo pang pag-yabungin ang balikatan sa iba’t ibang linya ng kooperasyon ng Estados Unidos at Pilipinas, upang epektibong makasabay sa pagbabago ng mundo sa iba’t ibang hamon.
Si Rubio, nasa Pilipinas, upang makibahagi sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers Meetings at Related Meetings.
“I’m glad that you have had this opportunity to at least engage and have some exchanges with the other foreign secretaries, with other foreign ministers, especially coming out of ASEAN,” —Pangulong Marcos.
Ilan sa mga paksa na binuksan sa pulong, ang patuloy na pagtugon sa epekto ng Middle East conflict, mga bago at umuusbong na teknolohiya, artificial intelligence (AI), defense at security, gayuntin ang economic cooperation.
Sabi ng pangulo, ang Pilipinas at US, maaari pang magbukas ng mas maraming kooperasyon, lalo na sa pagtugon sa mga usapin ng peace and stability sa Indo-Pacific, trade and business cooperation, at disaster response.
Ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to US Babes Romualdez, ginamit din ni Pangulong Marcos ang pagkakataon upang magpasalamat sa patulou ba suporta ng Washington sa Maynila.
