The Philippine national kickboxing team captured four gold medals at the 2nd Cross-Strait Cities Kickboxing Invitational Tournament in Sai Kung, Hong Kong.
Southeast Asian Games champion Gretel De Paz led the country’s golden charge, defeating hometown bet Chaothai Sousan to rule the women’s -56kg full-contact division.
Aime Ramos also delivered a golden performance as she overcame Macau’s Jiawen Lin in the women’s -48kg full-contact class.
Debutants Dave Justin Galas and Shiandris Rhey Nganhayna completed the Philippines’ medal haul.
It was a fitting birthday gift for Galas, who defeated Hong Kong’s Ka Sing Chan in the men’s 51kg K1 class while Nganhayna conquered another Hong Kong fighter, Ho Kong Tsang, in the men’s 54kg K1 division.
