EJ Obiena returned to the top of the podium after clearing 5.82 meters at the ISTAF Meeting in Berlin.
The 30-year old Filipino pole vaulter cleared the height in his first attempt to bag the gold and end a string of podium misses in the Wanda Diamond League.
Obiena tried for a season best 5.97 but failed three times.
Belgium’s Ylio Philtjens and France’s Robin Emig finished second and third, respectively, with identical clearances of 5.72 meters.
The Berlin triumph was Obiena’s ninth gold medal and his fifth in Germany of the season.
