Bryan Bagunas, Marck Espejo, and the core of Alas Pilipinas Men, who wrote history at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, are back to compete at the Aichi-Nagoya 20th Asian Games.
The ever-reliable veterans headline the 12-player shortlist issued by the Philippine Olympic Committee as of September 4.
Joining them are Buds Buddin, Lloyd Josafat, Leo Ordiales, Peng Taguibolos, and Josh Ybañez, who were all part of the Philippine team in last year’s global showpiece.
Greg Ancheta, Joshua Magalaman, Lirick John Mendoza, Adrian Villados, and five-time Spikers’ Turf Conference MVP Jude Garcia complete the squad under the watchful eye of Italian coach Angiolino Frigoni.
The Alas Men will be severely tested in their second straight Asian Games appearance as they are about to clash with the runner-up from the last edition, China.
The Filipinos will also go up against South Korea and Chinese Taipei in Pool D.
