
Meggie Ochoa struck gold in Las Vegas as the former national team athlete dominated the Female Master 1 Black Rooster division at the 2026 World Master IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
The 36-year old Filipina, representing Solas Jiu-Jitsu, opened her title run in emphatic fashion after blanking Checkmat’s Jazmin Hamuy Jara of Chile, 13-0.
Ochoa kept her momentum rolling in her next match and outlasted American-Brazilian Amber R Rymarz-Freitas of Diverso BJJ, 3-1 to secure the gold.
Her Solas Jiu-Jitsu teammate Gliza Bea Marasigan, meanwhile, took home the silver medal in the Female Master 1 Brown Rooster division.
