Jaja Santiago-Minowa may be bound for the prestigious League One Volleyball in the USA, but she is not dismissing the possibility of returning to the PVL.
The 6-foot-5 middle blocker felt the need for another stint with Creamline after the title favorites failed to pocket any medal in the PVL Invitationals.
However, suiting up again for the Cool Smashers will still depend on her performance with the San Francisco Signal.
Santiago-Minowa played six games with Creamline in the preseason tournament but she will not see action in the All-Filipino Conference of the 10th PVL season, which is set to start on October 10.
“For now, I think I wanna focus one by one, step by step. I need to perform first in San Francisco, and after that, we’ll see if I go back here,” she said. “Creamline, they’re my family right now. I feel like I have unfinished business with them.”
The 30-year-old Filipina who acquired Japanese citizenship said her brief stint with Creamline prepared her well while waiting for her LOVB debut in January 2027.
“Going to San Francisco, I’m kind of scared because I don’t know kung ano y’ung magiging performance ko, kung ano yung made-deliver ko sa team, maibibigay ko for the team,” she said. “I’m getting the confidence playing back and I know that I’m ready, I’m in a good condition.”
Before flying to the US, the former national team member will first go to Japan to support Asian Games-bound Alas Pilipinas Women, who are coached by her husband, Taka Minowa.
