Magtutulungan ang Department of Agriculture (DA) at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) para maisulong ang agribusiness aa mga nagbabalik-bansa na overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Ito ay sa ilalim ng Balik Agri-OFW Agribusiness and Investment Reintegration Program kung saan magkakaroon ang returning at prospective OFWs ng one-stop-shop support mula sa business planning hanggang training, financing at pagpapatupad ng kanilang mga negosyo.
Kabilang sa mga maaaring pagpilian ang native pig at chicken production, itik production, oyster mushroom production at processing, lowland vegetable production, at iba pang agriculture at value-adding enterprises.
Tutulong din ang DA sa access sa financing at enterprise support programs, kabilang ang loan programs ng Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) at livelihood at grant programs ng OWWA, depende sa eligibility at program guidelines.
Ayon kay Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., layon ng programa na mabigyan ang mga OFW ng kaalaman, technical assistance at access sa financing para maging sustainable agribusiness ang kanilang mga ideya at puhunan.
“Gusto nating ipa-realize sa ating mga minamahal na OFWs na may pera at livelihood opportunities sa agriculture. Through the Balik Agri-OFW Program, we want to provide them with the knowledge, technical assistance, and access to financing they need to turn their ideas into sustainable agribusinesses,” pahayag ni Sec. Tiu Laurel.
